Introducing Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice

Key points

  • You can choose between different strengths of Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice to suit your level of activity.
  • There are a number of in-built features to help with things like loose clothing, coughing and effortful breathing which may interfere with the use of your hands-free valve.

Introduction

When it comes to speaking hands-free, make sure you get to know your Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice device so you can get the most out of it. Here’s what you need to know before you start using it.

Your ultimate speaking and breathing device

The Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice combines a speaking valve with a Heat and Moisture Exchanger (HME), giving you the freedom to speak hands-free while making sure your lungs are well-humidified.

Use the membrane that works best for you

The Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice has four different membranes: Light, Medium, Strong and Xtrastrong. The choice depends on how much airflow and pressure you need for speaking and breathing. It can be helpful to try different membranes to find out which suits you and you may wish to use a different membrane depending on your activity level. For example, a lighter membrane is more suitable when you are less active.

Click-and-go assembly

The speaking valve attaches to the Provox Life FreeHands HME with a single click, so it’s easy to use on a daily basis.

Locked mode

By holding your breath and turning the top of the speaking valve, you can lock the Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice. This means the valve hooks into the loop at the back of the membrane and keeps the membrane open. This is particularly useful when you’re exercising and breathing heavily, for instance.

Carefree coughing

The Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice also has a cough release function. When coughing, the membrane will pop through the opening. By gently using your finger, you can put the membrane back in place.

No more unintentional blockages

Having a stoma shouldn’t dictate what clothes you can wear. That’s why ‘The Arch’ has been developed to stop accidental blockages of your stoma. It’s an accessory that is applied to Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice and creates a gap between you and your scarf, for instance.

Extra support to stop your stoma moving

For some people the stoma moves outwards when speaking hands-free, causing a decrease in voice quality. If this is the case, the Provox FreeHands Support can be a good solution as it reduces stoma movement and improves voice quality.

Not designed for sleep

The Provox FreeHands FlexiVoice is not meant to be worn when you sleep. Instead, you should use the Provox Luna to make sure you have a comfortable nights sleep – and improve your lung health while you rest.
